Rangers conduct targeted operation in Lyari

KARACHI: Rangers launched a targeted operation in Lyari and Pak Colony on Thursday, hours after bodies of two kidnapped personnel were recovered from the Mewa Shah graveyard in Karachi, reported Express News.

The two officials, Hawaldar Muneer Ahmed Bhutto and Aijaz Ahmed Baloch, belonged to the intelligence wing of Sindh Rangers and were abducted on Wednesday.

Rangers officials said that both the men were in civilian clothes when abducted. The men had been last seen in Nazimabad area.

Around 20 entry and exit points to the areas were blocked by Rangers during the operation. Several commandos, armoured vehicles, motorcycle scouts and women officials took part in the operation.

According to sources, certain elements also opened fire at the Rangers as they were trying to enter the area.

A total of nine people were killed in Karachi during the day in separate incidents of violence.
